A NEW service providing you with support and education from the comfort of your home. Using a computer or smartphone you now can access 2 hour individual consultations with a Karitane child and family health nurse for parenting challenges such as; sleeping and settling, feeding, toddler behaviour, adjustment to parenting and postnatal depression and anxiety.
Families who could benefit from this new service include (but are not limited to): those who live remotely, have limited access to parenting support, face transport challenges or unable to access Karitane parenting centres or residential services. Our skilled and caring team work in partnership with your family to assist you identify and achieve your goals. Your partner, a grandparent or support person is welcome to join the consultation with you and your child.

Who can use Karitane Virtual Home Visits?
Families with children (newborn to 5 years with) who are experiencing parenting difficulties associated with:
•Sleep and settling strategies
•Diet and nutrition
•Adjusting to parenting
•Anxiety and postnatal depression

How to start the process / What you need to do first
A referral from a health professional, such as your Doctor or a Child and Family Health Nurse is needed to access Karitane Virtual Home Visits. To find your local Child and Family Health Centre, contact HealthDirect on 1800 022 222.
Upon receiving your referral the Karitane Intake team will work with you to determine the service that best meets your needs.
Karitane Virtual Home Visits is a free health service to the community.
